ork Fresh Food Farms, a nonprofit urban farm in York, PA, is seeking a Manager to run its Mobile Produce Market operation in York, PA. This is a full-time position paying a salary of $35,600 per year. Management experience is required. The position reports to the Farm Manager. The position includes all aspects of York Fresh Food Farms’ Mobile Produce Market operation. Specific responsibilities include:

• With Farm Manager hire market staff and schedule and manage market staff

• Develop and carry out a marketing plan for the Mobile Produce Market

• Optimize produce presentation and customer service at Mobile Produce Market stops

• Timely coordinate and publish sales and produce information on Facebook, Instagram, other social media and Website

• Maintain POS (point of sale) system (Square) and Mobile Produce Market sales data, including coupons and other incentives, receipts and revenue including online sales, delivery, credit/debit/EBT payments and make periodic reports

• Manage Mobile Produce Market revenue, banking, online ordering/home delivery services; work with market staff to prepare orders and delivery

• Manage produce market inventory - making harvest decisions and working with Farm Manager to order additional produce from local vendors and price market Items with view to profit margins consistent with nonprofit mission

• With the Farm Manager, coordinate and manage timing and work of volunteers and volunteer groups

• Maintain and sustain community partner relationships and write and share informative updates

York Fresh Food Farms is a sustainable produce farm and mobile farmers/produce market. We are a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization. York Fresh Food Farms is the first and only urban farm in York, PA. Our mission is to cultivate community health through agriculture, access and affordability by growing, selling and donating safe, nutritious, affordable, high quality produce in underserved neighborhoods and for low-income and food insecure families. The produce harvested at York Fresh Food Farms (15 tons) is distributed through its Mobile Produce Market, a farmers-market-on-wheels, operating Monday through Saturday with two mobile market vehicles that follow a regular schedule with 15 stops throughout the City of York, PA, each week.

Most of the work will be outdoors. Farm and farm stand work is physical work under all sorts of weather conditions. Applicants must be physically fit, enjoy working outside and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Applicants must have a driver’s license and a good driving record. York Fresh Food Farms is looking for someone with a positive attitude, good sense of humor, motivation, enthusiasm, a strong desire to learn with good people and communication skills as well as being able to talk and work with culturally diverse groups of volunteers, neighbors and customers. Applicants must have excellent social media, Word and Excel skills. Being a York City resident and fluency in Spanish are a plus but not required.
