Community Connections for Children, Inc. (CCC) is a dedicated non-profit child care resource and referral agency committed to supporting families and providers. Since 1987, CCC has been instrumental in helping parents find quality child care options, offering financial assistance through subsidized programs, and providing essential training and technical support to child care providers.
The CACFP Specialist works under the general supervision of the STARS Manager to provide translation services, but in writing and verbally to support ECE providers, clients, and community members. The position will work across the CACFP and STARS departments, with a focus on the CACFP program. The position requires frequent travel throughout the ELRC regions. The position requires a flexible schedule with evening and occasional weekend hours. All CCC staff share and demonstrate a strong belief in the mission and vision of CCC and its programs. General Requirements & Skills
Summary of job responsibilities
- Implements the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and works with providers to ensure compliance with program regulations. Reviews meal counts and works with Finance Department to prepare invoices and claims.
- Communicates information to other CACFP staff from monitoring visits that may require additional response, such as regulatory violations.
- Provides information to CACFP participants regarding nutrition and CACFP requirements.
- Maintains provider files and PEARS database with current information and necessary documentation; provides other reports as assigned.
- Reviews payment vouchers and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with CACFP regulations.
- Develops and maintains positive, productive, and professional relationships with ECE facilities, clients, and colleagues.
- Participants in and translates professional development sessions on a variety of topics.
- Translates documents, manuals, reports, applications, social media posts and other materials, both in writing and verbally
- Conducts monitoring visits with sponsored providers in accordance with PA Department of Education guidelines.
- Provides translations services for other CCC staff to support Spanish speaking providers, clients, and community members. This includes, but is not limited to STARS Coaches and Staff, Resource & Referral Specialists, Provider Liaisons, and Managers.
- Works collaboratively with CCC staff and other partners to provide coordinated services to ECE programs and clients, particularly those that are Spanish speaking.
- Attends seminars, trainings, and conferences related to the work of CCC program.
- Attends and participates in agency, department, and other meetings.

- Ability to travel independently, with a reliable form of transportation, throughout York County and CCC’s service area throughout Pennsylvania. Occasional overnights
- Normal physical demands associated with work in an office environment, including lifting, bending, and carrying.
- Minimum qualifications and experience
- Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Additional languages such as Haitian/Creole preferred
- Related experience in early care and education and/or nonprofit social service agency
- Experience translating documents and trainings, preferred.
