SUMMARY:
GF Management
Assists the executive housekeeper in directing the housekeeping program to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive conditions of the establishment in accordance to corporate and franchise standards. Responsible for all aspects of the housekeeping function including but not limited to supplies, linen, equipment, work orders and others duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Assists the Executive Housekeeper in the supervision of all housekeeping associates. Also,
assists in the scheduling and training of all staff.
Acts as a liaison for the Director of Housekeeping and the Housekeeping Inspectors.
Responds to guests’ requests and complaints concerning the housekeeping department.
Inspects guest rooms to ensure that qualities of work and hotel standards are maintained.
Maintains contact with the Front Desk and Sales. Approves rooms for occupancy and notifies the front desk.
Fills in for the Executive Housekeeper in his/her absence.
Assists the Executive Housekeeper with monthly inventories of guest and housekeeping supplies. Also place orders for all necessary equipment.
Maintains and issues housekeeping keys.
Ensures that staff is in adherence to hotel uniform/grooming standards at all times. Performs other duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLIITIES:
Directly supervises 35 to 40 employees in the Housekeeping Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning; assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and discipline employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
TRAINING NEEDS:
Training in providing quality guest service, Supervisory skills training.
