SUMMARY:
GF Management
Assists in the Management of the hotel operation to ensure efficient and profitable operations. Ensures guest satisfaction of all outlets by maintaining and managing the highest standards of products and services while maximizing profitability through cost and labor control. In the absence of the General Manager, acts as the General Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Hires, trains, directs and motivates all departmental staff. Oversee scheduling of the hotel outlets
and encourages high morale amongst staff in order to reduce turnover.
Assists in the development of forecasts and budgets to maximize productivity
Ensures the safety and security of hotel employees and guests.
In the absence of department heads, ensures that operations are running efficiently.
Participates in daily property inspections and assists the Department Heads in the maintenance and upkeep quality standards for all facilities within the Hotel.
Inspects guests’ rooms, public access areas, and outside grounds for cleanliness and appearance.
Ensures that all staff is properly trained. Ensures training, development and adherence to company and property procedures.
Ensures that all required reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner. Issues written and oral instructions.
Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates. Participates in weekly staff meetings.
Participates on the General Manager’s Executive Committee, which plans and recommends improvement to all areas of the hotel.

Answers patrons’ complaints and resolves problems.
Ensures that staff is in adherence to uniform/grooming standards at all times. Ensures that all guests are served.
Must maintain a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLIITIES:
In the absence of individual department heads, acts as the Hotel Manager. Carries our supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
TRAINING NEEDS:
Training in providing quality guest service, telephone etiquette skills, management skills training, training in sales, forecasting, and budgeting.
