Description

SUMMARY:
To ensure quality guest service to all guests at catered hotel functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Sets up banquet meal functions as described by the banquet function sheet.
Provide prompt, professional and courteous service during banquet meal functions.
Performs tableside buffet food service as required.
Maintains a clean and orderly workstation.
Cleans tables of all glasses, silver, china, etc. during and after banquet functions.
Completes all assigned side work throughout scheduled shift.
Greets and continually monitors to ensure quality guest satisfaction.
Informs supervisor of guest comments/complaints.
Assists banquet associates when needed.
Assists in the set-up and break-down of banquet functions when business demands are high.
Must wear required uniform. Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLIITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
TRAINING NEEDS:
Training in providing quality guest service, training in proper table services techniques.
