Position Summary

The Jury Services Coordinator is responsible to provide service to judges, jurors, court related departments and the general public, as well as perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all jury panels being delivered to courtrooms
  • Maintains constant communication between Judge’s chambers and District Attorney’s office on what trials are going to be called
  • Coordinates all panel request from judges into JMS for proper paperwork to be created
  • Create two pools of 500 random York County residents for Jury Selection in JMS each trial term
  • Print juror badges each trial term for confirmed jurors
  • Maintain attendance records of jurors each trial week
  • Coordinate number of Tipstaves scheduled for trial terms and assign to judges for each individual trial
  • Process requests for Jury service to be excused or deferred each trial term
  • Maintains detailed reports that are submitted to AOPC monthly for state reimbursement of juror cost
  • Submit York County’s jury usage reports to AOPC using JMS on a monthly basis
  • Answer phones, process filings and provide prompt, courteous and professional service at front filing counter
  • Clock-in, record motion/petitions filed, deliver petitions/motions to Chambers
  • Provides procedural advice and appropriate forms to attorneys, self-represented litigants and general public
  • Purchasing and Archiving
  • Service copies of all orders to parties as directed (Various Court-Related Offices, Defense Attorney, District Justices, Self-Represented Litigants)
  • Schedule calendar data into web-based statewide Common Pleas Case Management System (CPCMS).
  • Maintain schedule of resource conference rooms in Outlook
  • Correspond with Common Pleas Judges and chambers staff
  • Image documents, maintain records and file paperwork
  • Clock, sort and process incoming mail
  • Schedule courtroom space for all Court of Common Pleas Judges, hearing rooms, Jury Assembly room, and various meetings held in multiple conference rooms throughout the Judicial Center
  • Coordinate courtroom technology and  litigant tour requests
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Essential Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in data entry
  • Organizational skill; attention to detail; accuracy
  • Knowledge of court procedures and terminology
  • Proficiency in court related programs and processes
  • Three years’ experience  in Jury Management Systems preferred
