Description

SUMMARY:

Responsible for ensuring that all hotel and restaurant laundry is cleaned and stocked for use by housekeeping and hotel associates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Sorts all linens for the washer.
Ensures that all chemicals and equipment are working properly.
Inspects linens for tears and stains and pretreats for reclaim or removes them from inventory. Maintains inventory of linens.
Properly operates washing and drying machines. Reports all needed repairs to the Engineering Department.
Folds all linen in accordance to hotel standards.
Maintains all banquet linens.
Irons all linens in accordance to hotel standards.
Fills in for other housekeeping duties as needed.
Must wear required uniforms. Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Performs other duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLIITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
No prior experience or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry our simple on or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
TRAINING NEEDS:
Training in providing quality guest service, training in the hotel’s housekeeping policies and procedures.
