ABOUT CPC'S WIC PROGRAM:

 

The Women, Infants, & Children (WIC) program offers a variety of benefits to help keep children and expectant mothers healthy. This free program is available to income eligible pregnant women, women who recently delivered, infants and children up to age five. The CPC WIC program provides free health screenings, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, supplemental nutritious foods, and referrals to other programs and services.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for greeting and checking in participants, answering a high volume of calls, scheduling appointments, determining eligibility, collecting data, offering basic nutrition education, make referrals to other health and social services, and performing various duties to ensure the delivery of WIC benefits, nutrition education and breastfeeding support. In addition, this position will be responsible for issuing Farmers' Market Nutrition Program Vouchers during the summer months. This position will primarily serve the York Community, but could be assigned to our other surrounding York County clinics as needed.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service, communication and organization skills; be a team player; and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Previous WIC experience is preferred but not required. Occasional local travel required. Bilingual in English/Spanish required.

General Requirements & Skills

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma/GED required. Those candidates for the position of nutrition assistant who have at least six months previous experience in nutrition or have completed and passed an approved college course in nutrition or dietetics will be given preference.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Bilingual in English and Spanish is required. This is a split position between the Hanover and York City locations, but you could be asked to travel to any of our satellite clinics as needed. Reliable transportation to assigned facilities throughout York County is required.
