Position Overview

Develop and manage a specific and defined market segment through client solicitation, telemarketing, client inquiries, and direct mail correspondence to ensure all revenue and room night goals are achieved or exceeded.
Essential Job Functions
• Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel both orally and in written from to previous, current and potential clients.
• Manage all account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Coordinate various departments’ participation in servicing accounts.
• Develop and implement monthly marketing strategies.
• Conduct outside sales calls both locally and in feeder market cities to solicit business
and represent the hotel at various trade shows and conferences.
Non-essential Job Functions
In addition to the performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions:
• Assist the supportive staff with the maintenance of sales files.
• Participate in the sales/catering reader board program.
• Supervise supportive staff in the distribution of all departmental communication.
• Participate in key organizations as recommended by Director of Sales and marketing.

• Education and/or Experience
o Four year college degree preferred. However any combination of education,
training of experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and
abilities. Prior hotel Sales experience preferred.
• Language Skills
o Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports and legal documents using proper grammar. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints for customers, regulatory agencies or members in the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively

present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of
directors. • Mathematical Skills
o Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operation to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sample theory and factor analysis.
• Reasoning Ability
o Should have analytical background. Extremely detailed oriented and the ability
to work on multiple projects consecutively.
• Training Needs
o Training in providing quality sales and marketing expertise. Overall understanding of GF Management Reporting. Experience with Microsoft Office
products.
• Other
o Knowledge of a hotel structure and how all departments interact.
o Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written in a friendly positive
manner in order to solicit business, meet client needs and resolve complaints. o Act as a liaison between the client and various hotel departments, ascertain
and respond to client needs.
o Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be
required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Physical Job Requirements
• Limited lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying are required in order to move supplies.
• Limited bending and kneeling is required when arranging supplies or equipment.
• Mobility needed to move about the complex between offices.
• Vision is critical to completing the numerous administrative responsibilities.
• Hearing is critical to communicating by telephone and answering client inquiries.
• Vision is critical to completing the numerous administrative responsibilities.
• Speech is critical to communicating with employees and clients.
• Written communication and administrative responsibilities require excellent reading
and writing abilities.
