Description
In partnership with the York County Economic Alliance, York Builders Association Workforce NOW Foundation and the York County Planning Commission, this pilot program will equip participants with fundamental skills essential for thriving in the construction sector. It will enhance the skills of individuals interested in the home construction sector and prepare candidates for employment. This program is made possible through funding from PA DCED Whole-Home Repairs Program and the County of York.
This course provides a robust foundation in safety, mathematics, tool usage, construction drawings interpretation, carpentry, weatherization and material handling.
Training tools, safety equipment, training materials, and snacks/meals will be provided for all participants. Assistance with purchasing safety shoes, transportation, and computer access is available if requested.
General Requirements & Skills
Requirements:
Be a resident of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at least 18 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
