No-Cost TIDE Welding Training Cohort Starting November 18th!

The Manufacturers’ Association’s Talent & Innovation Defense Ecosystem (TIDE) is launching a new 120-hour Basic Welder Training Program to help build the skilled workforce needed for the defense sector. This program provides hands-on, skill-focused training designed to prepare your workforce for the demands of modern defense manufacturing.

Course Highlights & Information

Participants in this entry-level welding course will gain essential, in-demand skills, including:

  • Basics in SMAW, MIG, TIG, and Flux Core welding

  • Blueprint reading

  • Welding safety protocols

  • Proper equipment setup and usage

This program directly supports the U.S. Maritime and Defense Industrial Bases through The Manufacturers’ Association’s TIDE Project, cultivating highly capable, innovation-driven talent for regional defense manufacturers.

Who Can Register?

This training is open to:

  • Employees of defense manufacturers (current or potential hires)

  • Recent Pre-Apprenticeship graduates

  • Eligible jobseekers pursuing a career in defense manufacturing

Course Details

Space is limited for this open-enrollment cohort!

  • Start Date: Tuesday, November 18, 2025

  • End Date: Tuesday, February 10, 2026 (11 weeks total)

  • Schedule: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

  • Location: Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, Greenfield Campus (Lancaster, PA)

  • Cost: FREE (includes all equipment and tools!)
