The Manufacturers’ Association, in partnership with York County School of Technology, is starting the year off with more Talent & Innovation Defense Ecosystem (TIDE) Welding training!!
Below is the course information, along with a link to register for the next TIDE Basic Welding course at York County School of Technology. When completing the registration:
- Please complete the Employer/Sponsor section for your Trainee(s) and wish to sponsor a current employee(s) and/or potential hire(s). Sponsoring companies must do work as, or support other, Dept. of Defense Maritime and/or Defense Industrial Base (MIB/DIB) manufacturers or U.S. government contractors.
- If you are an individual and not sponsored by a defense manufacturing employer, please leave that portion of the registration blank.
TIDE Basic Welder
This program supports the U.S. Maritime and Defense Industrial Base manufacturing through The Manufacturers’ Association’s Talent & Innovation Defense Ecosystem (TIDE) Project, helping build highly capable and innovation-driven talent for our regional defense manufacturers. Whether you are a defense employer looking to skill up your existing workforce, or an individual interested in working in defense manufacturing, this course will deliver hands-on, skill-focused training to help meet the critical demands of modern defense manufacturing in our region.
Participants in this entry-level welding basics course will learn:
- Basics in SMAW, Mig, Tig, and Flux Core welding
- Blueprint reading
- Welding safety protocols
- Proper equipment setup and usage

Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
