We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting and clerical tasks to support the efficient operation of the accounting department. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills, superb attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment. General Requirements & Skills

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         ACCOUNTS PAYABLE PROCESSING: Process bills and verify accuracy. Complete weekly check runs to ensure timely payments to vendors. Work with other departments to ensure account coding accuracy.

·         ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE PROCESSING: Process customer payment and deposits. Review customer portals. Monitor customer balances. Assist in collections, as needed.

·         DATA ENTRY & RECORDKEEPING: Accurately enter accounts payable and accounts receivable entries into the accounting system. Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records for easy retrieval and reference.

·         VENDOR SET-UP & MANAGEMENT: Implement and oversee new vendor setup process. Maintain vendor records. Prepare 1099’s on an annual basis.

·         CUSTOMER SET-UP & MANAGEMENT: Track and maintain customer credit account applications. Accurately set up new credit account customers in the accounting system and notify appropriate parties. Track and monitor customer sales tax exemption forms.

·         EXTERNAL SUPPORT: Collaborate with external partners, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

·         INVENTORY CONTROL SUPPORT: Assist with inventory cycle counts. Manage data of parts inventory control. Process inventory adjustments.

·         FINANCIAL REPORTING: Prepare and update various financials reports and ad-hoc reports, as needed

·         ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS: Handle general administrative tasks; including filing, scanning, maintaining organized files, etc.

·         OTHER RELATED TASKS AS ASSIGNED

   

Requirements:

·         Associates degree or coursework in accounting or related field preferred

·         Proven experience in an accounting or finance role, with knowledge of basic accounting principles

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with a strong focus on Excel

·         Oracle NetSuite & QuickBooks experience is a plus

·         Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

·         Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

·         Effective communication and interpersonal abilities

·         Willing to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities

  Physical Requirements:

·         Remain in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods

·         Frequently operate a computer and other office machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer

·         Occasionally ascend/descend stairs

·         Occasionally move about inside the office, shop, and parking lot

·         Occasionally encounters shop environments, which may include various sensory stimuli such as noise, odors, etc.
