Description

The Director of Group and Hospitality Sales Reports to the Vice President of Business Development. In this role you will create and implement the strategic plan for your team to achieve approved revenue goals in game day group and hospitality events, and in non-game day parties and events. In addition to leading the term, you will be responsible to achieve significant personal sales goals. You will interact frequently with the marketing team to ensure productive collaboration for theme and special events to drive sales.

Sales Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a role model for his/her team and coworkers in all regards
  • Prospects for new business
  • Achieves required number of daily/weekly cold calls, proposals and sales
  • Creates and delivers proposals with needs-based solutions
  • Manages an existing book of business securing renewals and provides excellent customer service
  • Visits with clients and assists in event execution when necessary during scheduled events
  • Documents all sales activity in CRM and provides reports as requested by the VP of Business Development
  • Communicates all event information accurately and efficiently with the Director of Client Services, Director of Ticketing and Director of Operations
  • Occasionally sells other products including sponsorship, radio advertising, and community events as directed by the VP of Business Development
  • Has a weekly sales plan to be documented and shared with the VP of Business Development

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Works with the VP of Business Development to create sales goals and sales performance metrics
  • Works with the VP of Business Development to create and implement sales plans taking full ownership of the plan and implementation
  • Assists with the interview process to help build a solid groups and hospitality sales team, which includes full-time sales professionals and seasonal interns
  • Meets with sales professionals weekly to review performance, to provide sales support, training, feedback, and guidance
  • Holds sales professionals accountable to achieving the minimum activity and sales requirements
  • Provides activity, sales projections and sales performance metrics/reports to the VP of Business Development as required
  • Implements, tracks and executes sales of special “one off” projects as needed
  • Takes the lead on planning and scheduling theme nights and other events
  • Works closely with the Director of Client Services, Director of Ticketing and Director of Operations to be sure that all group and hospitality event details are clearly communicated
  • Works 75% of home games until 7PM to provide customer service to all group and hospitality clients and to support sales and operations in executing these events.

General Requirements & Skills

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in ticket sales, group sales or hospitality industry sales
  • One year of experience in a management or leadership position preferred
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, a strong sense of passion for the job and be a self starter
