As the community action agency of York County, CPC offers services in more than 20 locations throughout the county. We provide our neighbors with opportunities in early childhood education, nutrition counseling, workforce development, housing and financial education and our Self-Sufficiency Program, all which support low-income individuals toward their goal of achieving financial stability.

SUMMARY:

Provides services to WIC participants by determining eligibility of applicants by verifying identity, address, income, and motor voter information as outlined in state/federal regulations for separation of duty, completes nutrition education follow-ups and make referrals to other health and social services. This position will primarily serve the Hanover community and York City, but could be assigned to our other surrounding York County clinics as needed.

General Requirements & Skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The Nutritionist Assistant shall demonstrate the following job skills and knowledge.

Ability to present educational information using a variety of methods such as written leaflets, posters.

Ability to present ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing, using language appropriate to the intended audience.

Ability to exercise independent judgment to identify the needs of the program and of the participant.

Ability to work independently or in conjunction with other support staff. Knowledge of anthropometric measurement and techniques after receiving required training.

Knowledge of correct hematological testing procedures after receiving required training. Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and techniques.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma/GED required. Those candidates for the position of nutrition assistant who have at least six months previous experience in nutrition or have completed and passed an approved college course in nutrition or dietetics will be given preference.
