POSITION SUMMARY
This employee is a para-professional working within the Intake Unit of the Department of Probation Services Adult Office. Work includes a significant degree of contact with probationers, parolees, Court related agencies, treatment providers, and the public. Major responsibilities include conducting an intake interview and/or initial investigation, review and assessment of individuals as they are processed through the court system, reviewing the conditions of supervision, completion of risk and needs assessment tools including the ORAS, mental health, domestic violence and lethality assessments, assignment of clients to specific caseloads, scheduling of the initial appointment with the assigned probation officer and making referrals for treatment or special conditions based on the Court Order. Additional responsibilities include monitoring administrative level probation cases for compliance using the Web Reporting Portal of the Offender Case Management System and preparing all essential paperwork for the monitoring of those cases. This position will be responsible to complete jail intakes and work one late evening per week in order to accommodate late intakes.
General Requirements & Skills
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Associates Degree is required or a high school diploma and four years’ experience in criminal justice or a combination of experience and training. The candidate must pass all clearances as outlined in the Child Protective Services Law and a pre-employment drug screen.
