Description
The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Vehicle Operations facility in York is our final assembly plant. Employees at York also perform a variety of manufacturing operations, including fabrication, welding, polishing and painting and produce a wide range of current and replacement parts for all models. Join our team as a Maintenance Electrician.
- Mechanical work is within the responsibility of this classification.
- Ability to perform production tasks as necessary or required by the situation.
- Support the production operation by providing immediate response to all breakdowns to minimize equipment downtime and follow all escalation processes as defined.
- Troubleshoot and perform required mechanical maintenance on automated equipment.
- Performs lubrication tasks as necessary.
- Performs welding repairs as necessary.
- Understanding of Mechanical and Hydraulic Presses.
- Understanding of Laser cutting equipment.
- Understanding of ovens and burner controls.
- Have a thorough knowledge of 480V, 3 phase power systems and equipment.
- Ensure machine availability goals are met by participating in and organizing Root Cause Analysis activities to improve equipment up-time.
- Understand Predictive Maintenance technologies in order to understand when they apply to problems and participate in utilizing them as deemed necessary.
- Assists in training employees in production roles to perform simple maintenance tasks as associated with TPM.
- Wears communication device as deemed necessary.
- Actively participate in any Skills Training Program required.
- Lockout equipment to be maintained and follow all safety practices and procedures.
- Wears all required PPE for the task being performed.
- Perform routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities.
- Utilize the CMMS to record and track work activities. including time keeping, historical equipment repairs and work order/PM closures.
- Operates necessary material handling equipment to transport supplies to job and to make installations and repairs.
- Performs routine and customary material handling and housekeeping associated with the job.
- Instructs helper or apprentice and acts as leader on jobs as required.
- Must be able to work eight hours or more and work mandated overtime as required under the guidelines of the current Labor Agreement.
General Requirements & Skills
- Journeyperson Card (related to the job opening) and/or Seven years of applicable experience as a qualified repair person in troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems relay, and PLC controls for machine repair.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in solving problems with electrical and electronic systems.
- Proven experience in the use of electronic test equipment, oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, multi-meters, signal generators, etc.
- Have a thorough understanding of ladder diagrams/logic and competent in the programming and troubleshooting of programmable controllers.
- Have a basic understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and machine drawings associated with each.
- Demonstrated ability to read and utilize prints and drawings of electrical, electronic, and programming systems.
- Experience using precision instruments in either metric or English measurement systems.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be a proven self-starter with a willingness to work in a team environment.
- Must have basic understanding of PC's and basic PC skills.
